4 Red Lips to Try this 4th of July

These red lips are great for any 4th of July holiday mood or moment.

Independence Day weekend is right around the color, and like most, you are looking to rock your red in style but you need a little inspiration.  Well, I got you girl because a red lip is a beauty staple every woman needs to master.

1.  Somebody cue Missy Elliot’s “Work It” because this “Werk Werk Werk” powder kiss lipstick from Mac Cosmetics combines hydration with a subtle matte finish to set off your 4th of July makeup look. 

2. Show up to the cookout like a BAWSE with The Lip Bar’s “Bawse Lady” liquid lip.  The applicator makes it easy to line and apply the color to the lips.  I have yet to see a hue of melanin that this lip does NOT compliment, so it’s definitely dark-skin girl-friendly.

3.  Turn up the heat with Milani’s Satin 10 liquid lipstick.  This fiery red color with a mattifying formula is perfect for a day party, at the pool, or out with friends for drinks.  The color payoff is best if you allow it to dry down before applying another layer.  I prefer this lip without a liner.

4.   The old faithful of the red lipstick lineup is definitely Sephora’s Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick. It applies smooth and dries down to a satin, matte finish. It’s cost-friendly and you can bet the house that Sephora will keep this collection in the rotation because nothing’s worse than your favorite lip being discontinued.
